CRA Automatic Tax Filing Starts in 2027: How It Differs From SimpleFile and Who It Is Designed to Help
Starting in spring 2027, the CRA plans to provide pre-filled 2026 tax returns to about one million lower-income Canadians with simple tax situations. The program is separate from SimpleFile and is expected to expand to roughly 5.5 million people by 2029.
