Canada Housing Starts Slipped in August 2026, but Calgary and Edmonton Moved Higher
Canada’s six-month housing-start trend fell 1.3% in August 2026 and year-to-date starts remained 4% below 2025. Alberta moved in the opposite direction, with the provincial trend rising 3%, Calgary up 7% and Edmonton up 1%.
